Steve’s strong technical background includes a B.S. (magna cum Laude) and M.S. in Chemical Engineering, and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He’s held research positions at the venerable Max Planck Institute and the US Naval Research Laboratory – where, coincidentally, the origin and development of GPS (Global Positioning Systems) first took place.

Steve (his friends call him “Dr. Marsh”) obtained his J.D. at Fordham University School of Law. He developed his patent litigation and prosecution experience at the respected New York law firm of Fish & Neave, and continued at the firms of Frommer, Lawrence & Haug (now Haug Partners), Dorsey & Whitney, and Goodwin Procter, before hanging his own shingle to become Special IP Counsel for Massachusetts General Hospital – the largest hospital-based research program in the United States. Dr. Marsh has worked directly with several prominent researchers at MGH/Harvard Medical and developed patent portfolios for various technologies in the medical field – more recently, significant patent work related to medical imaging for Siemens Healthcare.
